After the big signing of Dan Henderson yesterday, Strikeforce has added another veteran in Jeff “The Snowman” Monson. The American Top Team fighter and everyone’s favorite anarchist has been a regular on the International circuit, going 7-1 in his last 8 fights, including a win over the TUF 10 champion Roy Nelson (March 2009).
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but he is slated to fight in early 2010 for the organization. He will be dropping to light heavyweight (205 lbs) for Strikeforce, giving him a bigger class of challengers. Could we potentially see a Dan Henderson vs. Jeff Monson match-up on a primetime CBS card?
It’s too bad Kimbo Slice is now in the UFC and a teammate of Monson at ATT, or else this little video call-out could have become a reality.
